JAMBO! Karibu Kenya

This morning a customer care representative from Quest Holidays DMC will meet you at Nairobi’s Airport (JKIA) or your city hotel. After a short briefing on the events ahead, greet our expert safari guide and depart Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive and embark on a game-viewing drive before being transferred to your safari lodge or tented camp for lunch. Relax at leisure in the afternoon then venture back to the park for another game-viewing experience until dusk.

Lake Nakuru is famously known for its large flocks of flamingos, which gather along the shores to feed on the abundant algae. The lake is also a significant breeding ground and stopover for many species of birds and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park hosts one of the largest black rhino concentrations in the country. Other Indigenous mammals seen in the park include the spotted hyena, lion, leopard, hippopotamus (in the north-eastern corner), rock hyrax, bat-eared fox, wildcat, golden cat, Bohor reedbuck, defassa waterbuck, colobus monkey, Rothschild’s giraffe, and white rhinoceros.

You will have some time to relax before heading out for a game-viewing drive until sunset. Masai Mara, also known as the “Jewel of Africa,” is inhabited by many of Africa's most popular wild animals, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, cape buffalo, and rhinoceros, as well as giraffes, hippos, hyenas, Nile crocodiles, wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, antelopes, and more.

Spend the day exploring Masai Mara. During the game drive, our knowledgeable safari guide will introduce you to life in the savanna and share their infinite knowledge about African wildlife. The wildlife viewing is superb throughout the year. Observe massive crocodiles basking in the sun, see the graceful hippos wallowing in muddy water, and catch the antics of mischievous monkeys overhead. Watch, too, as the African savannah elephants roam along the forest edge and spot cheetahs in the open savannah eyeing off their next meal. The yearly wildebeest migration (July to September) coming through the park is one of the world’s most amazing wildlife spectacles.

You will also visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. Easily combined with the Boat Safari, a visit to the Crescent Island offers a rare chance to literally walk with the animals. A scenic park in its own right, Amboseli is synonymous with two particular things – majestic herds of elephant and glorious views of Mount Kilimanjaro with its impressive Uhuru Peak soaring to 19,341 feet. Waters running down from Mount Kilimanjaro create perennial swamps and wetlands that are a feature of the park, and draw the dense concentration of elephants which number over 1000. The park is also home to more than 50 other mammal species, including lion and cheetah, plus herds of zebra, wildebeest and their predators.
