Tour Plan

JAMBO! Karibu Kenya

This morning a customer care representative from Quest Holidays DMC will meet you at Nairobi’s Airport (JKIA) or your city hotel. After a short briefing on the events ahead, you will be transferred to Nairobi Train station for 0800hrs train to Emali Terminus. Meet your safari guide who will assist with a transfer to Kilaguni Serena Lodge. En route, you will have a game-viewing drive. After lunch, relax at leisure enjoying the hotel facilities before venturing to the park for another game-viewing drive until sunset.

Tsavo West offers magnificent game-viewing wildlife attractions including elephants, rhinos, hippos, lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffalos, and diverse plant and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler. The biggest attraction in Tsavo West is Mzima Springs. This is a haven for fish, birds, monkeys, crocodiles and hippos. Two nature trails are leading to an underwater viewing tank. With luck, you’ll see the unforgettably comic tip-toeing of an underwater hippo, or the sinuous, streamlined stealth of a crocodile in motion, as well as the blue swirl of large fish.

A scenic park in its own right, Amboseli is synonymous with two particular things – majestic herds of elephants and glorious views of Mount Kilimanjaro with its impressive Uhuru Peak soaring to 19,341 feet. Waters running down from Mount Kilimanjaro create perennial swamps and wetlands that are a feature of the park and draw the dense concentration of elephants which number over 1000. The park is also home to more than 50 other mammal species, including lion and cheetah, plus herds of zebra, wildebeest and their predators.

Climb The Observation Hill, which allows an overall view of the whole park especially the swamps, which are a center of activity for elephants, hippos, buffaloes, and abundant water birds. The surrounding flat grasslands are home to grazing antelopes. Prepare for predator sightings, as opportunistic animals begin roaming the plains in search of prey. Spotted hyenas, as are jackals, warthogs, olive baboons, and vervet monkeys, are plentiful.

You will also visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. Easily combined with the Boat Safari, a visit to Crescent Island offers a rare chance to walk with the animals literally. The island sanctuary isn't home to predators, so you can safely trade the safari car for your two feet as you wander alongside zebras, giraffes, and wildebeest!

The lake is also a significant breeding ground and stopover for many species of birds and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park hosts one of the largest black rhino concentrations in the country. Other Indigenous mammals seen in the park include the spotted hyena, lion, leopard, hippopotamus (in the north-eastern corner), rock hyrax, bat-eared fox, wildcat, golden cat, Bohor reedbuck, defassa waterbuck, colobus monkey, Rothschild’s giraffe, and white rhinoceros.
